Food for the Poor

This excellent charity supports local and third world communities by providing the support to deliver food, housing, water wells and more to very destitute families in need. Food for the Poor gives hope and directly manages providing new homes to families in need. In addition, they provide ways to donate options of a “small business” project for the family to get them in a position to support themselves. Food For The Poor manages the entire administration of all their programs for only 4 cents on each dollar donated. PiccoTek has taken the opportunity to donate fully functional water wells to support entire communities as well as housing, micro-enterprise opportunities and supplies to families in need. Please visit their web site, checkout the gift catalog, maybe donate some chickens directly to a family in need.

“For years, Food For The Poor has worked to help the poor and hungry in 17 Latin America and Caribbean nations. And, in that same time, U.S. military troops have provided medical care and civic assistance to communities in need during numerous humanitarian exercises and disaster relief missions,” said Dr. Vic Ramdass, the director of U.S. Southern Command’s Partnering Directorate. “Our cooperation just makes sense. By strengthening our partnership, we can help provide even greater assistance to the nations in the region.”
